The fact that Wellcome Trust is funding a program that brings together PhD's and game developers is cool enough, but what we really love is their little interactive gaming guide that organizes "Gameplay Pillars" into a sort of periodic table, and then teaches these pillars through some hands-on demonstration. (Though we are a little disappointed at the spec-work-like nature of the game-hack).
Wellcome Trust says:
" Science and games are a natural fit, both are about the participant seeking to understand the rules that govern the world they find themselves within and achieving this by experiments such as trial-and-error. "
We fully agree and are curious to see the kinds of novel game ideas that will come from this collaboration.
