When this site launched in early 2005, it set some online benchmarks with it's gorgeous full-screen photos and minimal design. It was something that just wasn't being done (well) at the time.
Over the years as monitor sizes have ballooned and miscellaneous site "updates" have been made, the site's quality has suffered slightly. But even today it can still hold its own against any professional architecture site.
If we had to do it all over again in 2010, we'd certainly go with an all-HTML site. But, hey, that wasn't really an option for this sort of thing back then now, was it?
